Top 10 business hotel openings across Europe in 2021

With business travel set to be back on the agenda shortly, we round up the top 10 hotel openings in Europe’s busiest business cities in 2021. Get packing!

With the COVID-19 vaccine rolling out worldwide and business travel on the horizon, we highlight luxury and business hotel openings in some of Europe’s busiest business destinations.

From London to Paris, Amsterdam to Rome, here’s our round-up of the newest hotels for business people opening this year, ranked by number of rooms. Get packing!

 

10: Beaverbrook Townhouse, London

Opening: Summer 2021

Hotel Group: Beaverbrook

Location: London

An extension of the famed Beaverbrook Hotel & Spa in Surrey, Beaverbook Townhouse is set to bring refined English countryside charm to the city. Located on Sloane Square in Knightsbridge, the stunning property – two fully restored Grade II listed Georgian townhouses – offers stunning views over Cadogan Place Gardens and is within walking distance of Knightsbridge Tube Station. Providing a bespoke and boutique experience that prioritises wellbeing, creativity and a tailored service, and that celebrates all things British, the townhouse delivers 14 luxury suites, with each suite named and styled to celebrate a different London theatre. There’s also a Japanese restaurant and bar.

 

09: The Woodward, Geneva

Opening: April 2021 (just opened)

Hotel group: Oetker Collection Hotel (Bastion Holdings)

Location: Geneva

Boasting the best of both worlds, The Woodward sits on the shores of the soothing and picturesque Lake Geneva, offering picturesque views (the lake and Mont Blanc) and outdoor activities, and yet is located in the heart of the city, with easy access to Geneva International Airport (just 2.5 miles) and business centre. This all-suite hotel sits within a grand building built in 1901 with 26 luxe suites delivering signatures such as marble fireplaces and bookcases, with 21 suites featuring full lake views. The piece de resistance, the Presidential Suite, offers a private dining room, while the Royal Suite boasts its own private lift.

Both restaurants have Michelin credentials courtesy of their New York outlets and will focus on using local produce. With L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, expect vegetables to take a starring role, and the restaurant delivers a theatrical dining experience of an open-kitchen concept for 36 guests (great for business get-togethers), while Le Jardinier will focus on classic French techniques. The hotel’s huge spa features a Wellness Institute by Maison Guerlain offering exclusive Guerlain treatments, as well as a gym, two Swedish baths and the longest indoor swimming pool in Geneva.

08: Bulgari Hotel Paris

Opening: 2021

Location: Paris

Marking the seventh hotel in the Bulgari collection, this five-star hotel Bulgari Hotel Paris sits in one of the world’s most exclusive districts, located in the prestigious address of 30 Avenue George V, the luxurious Parisian street that forms the Triangle d’Or with the Champs Elysees and the Avenue Montaigne. Designed in a typical Parisian style, the hotel features 76 rooms, mainly suites, along with a plethora of luxury facilities including a spa, 25-metre pool and Bvlgari restaurant and bar which opens on to a stunning courtyard garden.

07: Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid

Opening: April 2021 (opened)

Location: Madrid

Following an extensive three-year renovation of the iconic 110-year-old Hotel Ritz, Madrid, the Mandarin Oriental Ritz preserves the striking Belle Epoque character of the original. Prestigiously located in the historic Golden Triangle of Art, opposite the famed Prado and Thyssen museums, and in the heart of Madrid’s main shopping and historic district, the hotel features 153 luxurious rooms and 53 suites, among them two stunning suites located in the top floor turrets and featuring private balconies and magnificent views over the Prado Museum. 

The hotel’s five restaurants and bars have been designed, developed and overseen by one of Spain’s most celebrated chefs, Quique Dacosta, and its new leisure and wellness facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, vitality pool, experience showers, steam room, fitness centre and a sanctuary room offering a range of exclusive local treatments. 

06: W Hotel Rome

Opening: September 2021

Location: Rome

Offering a unique twist on La Dolce Vita in the Italian city, the new W Hotel Rome spans two historic 19th century buildings in the busy, prestigious Via Veneto neighbourhood, located just a 10-minute walk from the famed Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. The hotel will feature 162 guest rooms and suites with private balconies and terraces, a home-away-from-home vibe, and the luxe comfort of W Signature Beds.

For the active types, there’s a pool and fitness centre and for casual meetings or relaxation, head to one of the city’s few rooftop bars, which promises to deliver creative cocktails, authentic pizza and unmatched views across the city. Culinary offerings here are as prestigious as the neighbourhood with Michelin-starred chef Ciccio Sultano the star behind the hotel’s eateries including Sicilian dining at Giano.  The W Hotels brand also debuts in Japan and Portugal this year.

05: The Westin London City

Opening: Summer 2021

Hotel Group: Marriott International

Location: London

Designed by British architects Dexter Moren Associates and marking the first Westin-branded property in the UK, this business hotel is ideally located over one of the primary arterial routes through the City of London. Situated on the North Bank of the River Thames, opposite the Tate Modern, The Westin London City is spotlighting wellness and will deliver an indoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness studio and mega spa, as well as its signature bed and bath experience in rooms, and offering its renowned running program with 3- and 5-mile jogging routes along the riverfront, giving guests access to its Gear Lending program, so business guests can pack light.

The 222-room hotel offers 29 suites, a restaurant overlooking the South Bank, and is truly business-focused, boasting lots of ultra-modern meeting and event space, including four meeting rooms, a ballroom and a 24-hour business centre.

04: Pan Pacific London

Opening: September 1st

Hotel group: Pan Pacific Hotels Group

Location: London

Marking Pan Pacific’s debut footprint into Europe, the Pan Pacific London, which was originally planned to open at the end of last year, brings a flavour of its luxurious Singapore home to the city. Located close to Liverpool Street station and with much-desired connectivity to the rest of London, the hotel is set within the mixed-use One Bishopsgate Plaza development, in a new landmark tower next door to the 144-year-old Devonshire House with its designer shops, restaurant and cocktail bar.

Pan Pacific London will feature 237 rooms and suites, including a 19th floor signature suite, along with a variety of meeting rooms, each with cutting-edge audio and visual tech and world-class catering. Keeping well while doing business is easy here with the hotel’s indoor infinity pool featuring views over the Plaza, spa and high-performance interactive gym, and a ballroom for up to 400 guests.

When it comes to dining, the hotel brings its Singaporean home flavours to London with signature restaurant Straits Kitchen and chic Asian cocktail bar Ginger Lily. Private dining is also available and with an in-house nutritionist, guests can enjoy a wellness menu too. Oh, and pets are allowed!

03: The Londoner, London

Opening: September 2021

Location: Leicester Square, London

Describing itself as the world’s first ‘super boutique hotel’, and built on a philosophy of ‘sustainable luxury, The Londoner is a five-star hotel located on the southwest corner of Leicester Square, giving guests easy access to theatre land. Occupying 16 storeys, The Londoner delivers 350 rooms, including 15 suites as well as a tower penthouse with panoramic views, with all rooms featuring the latest tech and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Doing business from here is easy with seven private meeting rooms available along with a room designed for bespoke events and two private screening rooms which can be hired for presentations, meetings or bespoke cinematic entertaining. When entertaining, there are six dining venues to choose from, including a Japanese lounge bar with a rooftop terrace with open air firepit seating, and you’re in the heart of the West End theatre land screening rooms for business entertainment. 02: nhow Frankfurt

Opening: 2021 end or 2022 start

Hotel Group: NH Hoteles

Location: Frankfurt

Located in a 190m high skyscraper in Frankfurt’s booming and artistic European district, right in the financial heart of the city, and ideal for those executives attending Frankfurt’s international-scale events and conferences, it’s little wonder this four-star lifestyle hotel is themed ‘money and art’. Over 14 floors, there are 375 rooms delivering a contemporary, bright and urban vibe.

nhow Frankfurt will also boast a conference area of more than 1000sqm along with a restaurant, bar and fitness zone. The highlight though, literally, is the public sky bar with its rooftop terrace, the only public sky bar in Frankfurt and with spectacular views of both the Frankfurt skyline and the Taunus. The nhow hotel brand already has business hotels in Rotterdam, Milan and Berlin.

01: The Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam

Opening Autumn 2021

Location Amsterdam

This re-brand takes what was the NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, an icon in the city for over 155 years, and transforms it into The Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam, marking Anantara’s first property in the Netherlands. Set to open this Autumn, the 402-room hotel is located in Dam Square, in the heart of Amsterdam with museum, shopping and business on its doorstep. Just 25 minutes from Schiphol International Airport and five minutes from Amsterdam Central Station, the hotel also boasts its own private pier for city journeying via boat. Facilities include the 2-bed Presidential Suite, the Royal Suite (aptly overlooking the Royal Palace of Amsterdam) and a host of different sized meeting rooms catering from 10 up to 1,500 people.

The hotel’s eateries are overseen by three-star Michelin chef Jacob Jan Boerma, and includes The White Room, the 19th century Wintergarden with stunning views over Dam Square, and the Tailor bar, with celebrity mixologist James Chaib at its helm. A new Anantara Spa with hammam and infrared sauna and gym has been added.
